Welcome to the website of Saint-Lambert Citizens against Noise Pollution (SLCNP). Our association appeals to all residents who wish to preserve the tranquility and quality of life in our beautiful city.
Our purpose: to oppose the noise pollution imposed on our city, especially that from concerts at Montreal's Parc Jean Drapeau.
Throughout six months of the year, from May to October, Parc Jean Drapeau, located on Île Notre-Dame, hosts numerous events that start as early as 2:00 p.m. and often end only after 11:00 p.m. Here is what the summer 2010 will look like:

We consider the constant disruptions to be abusive and unreasonable. They betray a lack of respect toward the residents of neighbouring communities like Saint-Lambert, Longueuil and Greenfield Park.
Parc Jean Drapeau must manage its activities in a manner that prevents our hearing them. It is unacceptable for its events organizers to put on Woodstock-style concerts within earshot of residential areas not under its jurisdiction.
The situation is unacceptable, and must stop immediately.
LET'S MAKE NOISE, LET'S MAKE OURSELVES HEARD!
Elected officials and citizens alike, let's organize ourselves. We do not need to undertake this individually.
